To my past, present and future clients:
I AM A FREELANCER and my added value will always be higher than my rate.
I am here to make your life easier; to solve a particular problem; work on a project and save you money by getting the job done more efficiently and more skillfully.
When you hire me, you can rely on my expertise, my experience and my enthusiasm.
Unlike so many people who go to work and go through the motions just to collect a paycheck, I became a freelancer to do what I’m good at; to do what I love… and I love what I do.
I need no time tracker, no hand-holding micro-managing supervisor or never-ending on-the-job training.
When your 9 to 5 crew leaves the building,
Amen. That is all.
When I talk to a customer, that is my mantra. My added VALUE will always exceed the figure that you pay me.
Simply: BAM!
Brilliantly accurate!
ha ha! Love it!
Oh my land, brother. Your creed should be on every freelancer’s website. And most definitely every freelancer’s rate card and hiring contract. In large print! Spot-On again, Paul. 🙂
Love.Love.LOVE!!
Thank you for posting Paul – LOVE IT!
Great stuff, Paul. Clear, concise and so very true!
Say no more…
Here here.
Very well said! Thank you
As always, very nicely stated Paul!

Bravo Paul!
My favorite part? Of course it’s the, “I AM A FREELANCER and my added value will always be higher than my rate.” Cheers 🙂
wow, Paul. Those are powerful words. Thank you for sharing this in order to empower all of us.
This is delightful! I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and you just described my life. Made me smile with pride. Thanks, Paul
The freelance sector is a hateful, spiteful group of money hungry people with no sympathy for the arts and all apathy for the plight of indie filmmakers.
That’s a broad generalization, don’t you think? It sounds rather hateful and spiteful, if you ask me. Perhaps you should have a little more sympathy for the plight of freelancers. Many of my freelance friends support the arts and love working with indie film makers.
