I totally relate to what you are saying. And despite well-meaning advice from some "professionals" in this industry, I take your stance on my accent. This is who and what I am. I am the sum of my upbringing, my life experiences, and my voice and accent reflects that. It is unique to this part of the world, exotic even. It may lose me some jobs, sure... but in the long run, I believe it will gain me even more! Cheers for a great blog! As a New Zealand voice, living and working in the US.
